something different is happening in south augusta.
On October 10, we're gathering families, friends, neighbors, and our community for an evening centered around one of God's Biblical Feasts: the Feast of Trumpets.
You don't have to know anything about the biblical feasts to come. Bring the family. Come hungry. Ask questions. Have some fun. And discover why thousands of years ago God appointed a day for His people to hear the sound of the trumpet.
come and see.
What's Happening?
Dinner is on us. Come hungry and enjoy a free community meal while meeting families and neighbors from across Augusta.
Think you know the Bible? Put your knowledge to the test with Bible Jeopardy on the big screens. Play along, compete, learn something new, and win prizes.
The Gathering is designed for the whole family, with activities and opportunities for children and adults to enjoy the evening together.
Passover. Unleavened Bread. Firstfruits. Weeks. Trumpets. Atonement. Tabernacles. Walk through an interactive display introducing the seven Biblical Feasts of Leviticus 23 and discover how they fit into the story of Scripture.
Ever seen a shofar? Come see one up close, learn why trumpets appear throughout Scripture, hear them soundedβand maybe even try one yourself.
What Is the Feast of Trumpets?
"Speak to the Israelites and say, 'On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of Sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts.'"
β Leviticus 23:24
The Feast of Trumpets is one of the Biblical Feasts God appointed in Leviticus 23. It is a day marked by rest, gathering, remembrance, and the sounding of trumpets.
And the trumpet carries a powerful message throughout Scripture. The trumpet sounds a warning. It's a call to wake up. To pay attention. To repent. And the trumpet announces the King.
That's why this feast ultimately points our attention toward Jesus Christ of Nazareth and His return.
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God..."
β 1 Thessalonians 4:16
the king is coming.
Maranatha β Come, Lord Jesus.
The Moment You Don't Want to Miss
As the sun begins to set over Augusta, the community will gather together. We'll briefly explain the significance of the Feast of Trumpets. Then, at approximately 7 PM, we'll sound the shofars together as the Feast begins.
The community celebration gives way to sacred assembly. The trumpets sound. The people gather. We worship the King.
